- Latex type balloons come in different sizes. From 5 inch to 36 inch and they have a lower floating time compared to foil balloons. Hence it is always recommended to only fill latex balloons with helium on the day of the event as they will shrink gradually until they drop.
- Foil type balloons come in varies sizes and depending on the sizes some will not float even when filled with helium. The least size for a floating foil balloon is 18inch.
- Bubble type balloons are very different from latex balloons. They are made from clear stretchy plastic (not latex) and once inflated, they are perfectly clear. Many love stuffing mini balloons into these balloons.
Difference between latex and foil balloons
Foil balloons are made from a non-stretchy film made from a meld of metal and nylon. These types of balloons are less porous and therefore less likely to allow the gas within to escape and as a result, foil balloons can last up to two weeks compared with the one or two-day lifespan of latex alternatives.
What balloon lasts the longest?
Latex balloons can generally last between 12 to 20 hours with helium-filled and about 2 to 3 days when treated with Hi-float compared to foil balloon, it can last approximately 5 to 7 days.
